Almost all the women are consuming prenatal vitamins during the pregnancy. Most of them do not experience any side effects. Like any other medication prenatal vitamins also have some side effects such as- headache, fatigue, ringing in ears (tinnitus), gas or belching, muscles pain, heartburn and nausea.

It is observed that some women do not face any trouble in consumption of prenatal vitamins, but some face health troubles. Some side effects subside for three to five months of pregnancy as morning sickness. But in some cases side effects of prenatal vitamins are extended throughout the pregnancy. In some cases women develop serious allergic reactions such as- hives, breathing trouble, etc. Under these circumstances a pregnant woman should seek immediate medical attention. Some women face constipation trouble, this is due to over dose of iron content in the prenatal vitamins. You can get relived from this trouble by consuming fibre rich food and drinking lot of water.

Medical association in American has revealed that taking prenatal vitamins for six weeks or longer can affect the neural tube and can harm the foetus. The prenatal vitamins are beneficial if taken in right amount. Excessive consumption of prenatal vitamins can affect your health and result in premature infants. Regular consumption of fibrous food items and healthy eating life style can avert the prenatal vitamins side effects.
