Once you became pregnant, you are surrounded with many pregnancy myths and old tales. People around you might say so many things about what to do and what not to do during this time. So it becomes difficult for a pregnant woman to know what’s right and what’s wrong.
Pregnancy is the wonderful phase of women life and the experience of giving birth to a new life is amazing. But certain outside factors may not allow you to cherish the moment.
Here are some pregnancy myths –
Heartbeat predicts baby’s gender: The biggest pregnancy myth is that if your heartbeat is fast then you are expecting a baby girl. But this is a false notion; your heartbeat cannot predict the baby’s gender.
Eating for two: When you are pregnant, you are advised to eat for two. But doctors recommend to increase only little amount of calories per day. Many women become over weight during the pregnancy because they are eating for two.
Little level of alcohol is safe during the pregnancy: This statement is not right. A pregnant woman should not consume alcohol at all. Few drops of alcohol can also damage the growth of your baby.
Magical ways to predict your baby’s gender: Other than ultrasound, there are no other ways to determine your baby’s gender.
To stay calm during the pregnancy, you should not listen to all the advice given by people around you but do what your doctor and your common sense guides you to.
