Things Parents Should Know About Newborn Baby Sleep

Newborns sleep a lot. They typically sleep for at least 16 hours a day. However, the sleep cycle of a newborn is shorter than that of the adults. The baby wakes after two to four hours of sleeping day or night. This happens during the first weeks of life. The irregular sleep of the newborn can be tiring for the parents, especially at night when the baby wakes up and you need to feed, change diapers or carry him.
New parents may have a hard time knowing if there really is a schedule for the newborn’s sleep. Unfortunately, at this time, the baby doesn’t have any sleep schedule.
The baby will start sleeping throughout the night by 3 months of age. But as of now, there is no set schedule. However, for the first five to six weeks, do not let a newborn sleep for more than 5 hours at a time. Remember that the newborn needs to feed at least every three to four hours.
The baby’s stomach is very small, which is the reason why they need to wake every now and then to have their tummies filled up. For premature babies, frequent feedings are needed, and parents should be advised that the baby should be waked for feeding.
When putting the baby to sleep, never leave the bottle propped in the infant’s mouth.
A lot of parents may say that this helps the infant sleep better, but it can actually lead to choking and ear infections. Always make sure that the environment is not too stimulating for the baby especially when he or she is asleep.…

5 Month Old Baby Development

When it comes to the development of infants, there are parents who would either expect more or expect less from their baby. Parents must remember that each baby is different. Having a guide of the developmental milestones of a baby can help. But they must be aware that in case there is too much delay with the progress of the development of a baby, it must be brought up immediately with the paediatrician.
By the 5th month of life, the baby is now starting to be more advanced with gross motor skills. Crawling is expected and they can now sit upright. This is the time when parents should not leave their babies on a high surface or even on a bed because the baby may crawl off it and fall.
When it comes to sleep, most babies can sleep all throughout the night, although there are some who do not. Establish a bedtime routine to encourage a regular sleeping schedule. As for the senses, the color perception of babies is now sharpened, and they can see well even at a distance, but their vision is still not a perfect 20/20.
A 5 month old baby can now babble, and some can even form real words already, or it may sound real. However, the possible words you hear from your baby still doesn’t have meaning yet.
On the 5th month, it is best if you play all sorts of music for your baby such as classical and pop music. Babies appreciate music by smiling, clapping or even humming along.…

Baby Nutrition Saving Money Tips

Store baby food in the fridge and don’t throw out leftovers. Homemade baby food will save you a lot of money if you are making it a week in advance and that way you also save a lot of time in the kitchen. You can look for homemade recipes online and discover what kind of fruits and veggies your baby loves the most.
My nephew just loves eating for lunch this great simple soup pureed and it’s so yummy and delicious and easy to make. Just cook in water chicken, potatoes, yams, quinoa, carrots and any vegetable you love would be perfect for this. I take it out of the water and puree it until it’s perfectly smooth for the baby to eat. I don’t add any spices or salt because babies don’t need that kind of stuff.
For breakfast I make bananas, pears, apples, oranges and some fresh berries. This is so good even for adults. to keep the bananas from turning black I add a little lemon juice on top of the puree to prevent it from changing color and lose all the nutritious vitamins. Sometimes I just make double the amount because I have to have some for myself. I make it fresh every morning because fruit lose vitamins very quickly so it’s very important to make it fresh. It’s better tasting that way too.…
