Basic Do’s and Don’ts During Pregnancy

When you become pregnant, you will notice people around you giving you a lot of advice on what to do and what not to do during pregnancy. With these billions of suggestion it becomes hard for a pregnant lady to determine what the fact is and what the fiction is. For first time, mother’s pregnancy is an unexplored territory. In this article I would like to flash some light on do’s and don’t during the pregnancy.
Smoking and alcohol- smoking and consumption of alcohol should be avoided by the pregnant women. Consumption of alcohol is linked to miscarriage and premature birth of the baby.
Follow a workout regime- Pregnant women is advised to follow a workout regime, to avoid excess weight gain and to keep her body fit and fresh. Workout does not mean you have to practice heavy exercises. Taking a walk around your neighbourhood or in a garden would help you withstand the rigors of labour and ends in easy delivery.
Drink plenty of water- drink at least 12-15 glasses of water every day. Avoid high calorie beverages including juices and sodas. Try to drink fresh lemon water without adding sugar.
Do not overstress- a pregnant woman should never overstress herself. Take sufficient sleep and frequent short breaks while performing the daily activities.
